Starting eValid with Common Device Settings

We have been asked many times, "What is the best way to have eValid imitate mobile device XYZ?"

The best solution is to start eValid using the -AGENT switch to specify the User Agent String (UAS) which eValid is supposed to be using.

When eValid starts up it will continue to use that particular UAS until you close that instance.  All of the browsing you do in this mode will be reported to the server as arising from that specified device.

To see how this appears you might want to look at this page:
Starting eValid With A Specific User Agent String (UAS).

This page illustrates how different the delivered HTML appears when it has been tailored by the web server for the particular device. (In this case, an iPad and an iPhone).

Here are a dozen start up sequences for some Common Devices.
