Microsoft Web Apps Technical Demonstrations

You may have heard about Microsoft's new Web Apps offering, announced in September 2009 and currently in the process of being released as part of Microsoft Office 2010, and operating as a Windows Live SkyDrive application. How well does eValid handle this kind of sophisticated AJAX application? To find out we've been developing experimental scripts for the PowerPoint (PPT) and the Excel applications, with very good results.

• The Microsoft SkyDrive PPT "Hello World" Example #2 illustrates how we were able to convert a "from life recording" into one that uses DOM manipulation to produce a reliable script suitable for detailed regression testing. The script creates a 1-page PowerPoint presentation with "Hello World" as the main message.

• The Microsoft SkyDrive EXCEL "Input Data" Example #3 uses the same account to create a minimal Excel spread sheet, and then add some words into the display.
