eValid Server Migration Process in Progress
The machines that serve the different sub-websites that are part of the Software Research, Inc. family of products and services are being upgraded.
Between now and mid-January you may experience loss of connectivity to certain websites.
We mention this possibility in an abundance of caution; we do not expect there will be any actual interruptions.
If you are an eValid Commercial License user we have taken extra precautions and we we expect to have zero loss of service of any kind.
Even in the very unlikely chance that there is a loss of connectivity, we have provided all Commercial License customers with backup short-term licenses to use if connectivity is lost.

Running a test after all the elements on a page are present? -- With modern web apps -- nearly all based on AJAX ideas -- keeping tests coherent (and thus meaningful) is critical, as elaborated here.
eValid scripts can't call themselves ... why please? -- Indeed, recursion isn't supported...but here's the trick to get the same effect (you have to read the post to find out).
Test synchronization at playback time question. -- Again, the proactive approach to maintaining test stability is to build in synchronizations, in many ways.
Can eValid be used to search for a non-existent element? -- Indeed, this kine of negative verification CAN be a correct test procedure -- when used with care.

Can eValid be used to invoke an app like PUTTY -- An application like PUTTY can indeed be tested using eValid's application mode, as this discussion reveals. But it's not really web testing, is it?
eValid takes a long time to run regular expression search. Why? -- A regular expression search in a powerful method, but on a large web page the search can consume a lot of time, and this post explains how the timings can differ.
Can a server determine if eValid is a robot? -- The question is a subtle one. Of course, it can be detected with a CAPCHA, and there are also way to detect robots using time and the like. It is a neat question...with some simple answers.
Need to know the inner workings on adaptive playback -- This is a built-in feature (but you can turn it off) that overcomes pages for which links deteriorate over time -- but your tests still PASS. Here is how the magic is done.
